Cheap Road Trips
Enjoyed by Kids and Adults
This is where I will share with you some ideas from cheap road trips that we have already been on. Our goal is to visit all fifty states. We are off to a great start!
We can scratch off Utah,
guaranteed to blow the mind of any dinosoar loving kid. Imagine asking an eight year old little boy to design the ultimate town. Vernal would be it.
Speaking of aliens, we can also give a check mark to New Mexico where we visited the famous town of Roswell.
This is where the aliens crashed back in 1947. Science fiction, you say? I thought so too until I visited the Roswell Museum. Details coming up.
I will also tell you about the White Sands National Park. Imagine an endless mass of sand dunes made of silky soft, sparkly white fairy dust. Now imagine that you can sled down it on a giant Frisbee. No, I'm not on drugs. I will tell you how you can really do this. If you think this is more for the kids and not a whole family vacation activity, just wait until you see your kids flying down the dunes on their bright orange and green discs. After I watched my son doing it a few times, I joined him and had one of the most spectacularly fun days of my life.
I also strongly suggest visiting the Gila Cliff Dwellers National Monument and hike up there to the coolest house in the world where you look out from atop a cliff from a cave every day. That view is your décor.
A Trip to Arizona demands a trip to the Grand Canyon, a wonder of the world.
Everyone needs to go take a look at this at least once in their life. If nothing else, just drive over there and look at it for at least an hour. I’ll share with you what worked and what I wish I did differently.
Idaho, Wyoming, Montana
We hit Idaho, Wyoming, AND Montana on our Yellowstone National Park trip.
This trip is the one where I almost got myself killed sticking my entire upper body out of the car to snap a picture of an oncoming bison. But check out the cool photo!
